The Medical Reserve Corps started as an emergency response program, but has become a public health initiative that empowers communities to lead the way by engaging with public and private players to meet the communities’ own health aspirations.
Public healthcare professionals are a limited resource, and utilizing non-professionals who are interested in helping allows communities to be engaged in designing a health future that they want.
