Examining the global impact of technology
New User Interfaces
This episode features an interview with Joy Mountford, an internationally recognized leader in the field of user interfaces. In the 1990’s she was head of the human interface group at Apple Computer, where she played a major role in the design of their Quicktime software. She also served as vice president of user experience design at Yahoo, and played a similar role at several other companies. She was also the founder of the International Design Expo, which for over 20 years has helped develop the next generation of design innovators for both education and industry. She’s currently the global lead of Interaction Design for the Ford Motor Company at Ford’s Palo Alto Research Center, where she’s working on interfaces for autonomous vehicles. Across all of her jobs she says her most useful skill has been as a technology therapist. Martin Wasserman hosts.
