This episode examines the future of education, and how we can best prepare young people to be successful in the 21st century. There are two in-studio guests. Esther Wojcicki is the founder and director of the highly acclaimed Palo Alto High School Journalism Program, where students learn journalism by doing journalism. She was named California Teacher of the Year in 2002, was awarded the Gold Key by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, has served on numerous educational boards and commissions, and is the author of the recent book “Moonshots in Education: Launching Blended Learning in the Classroom.” Marc Prensky is a speaker, author and consultant in the field of education. He’s the founder and director of the Global Future Education Foundation, which promotes new approaches to education. He’s written seven books, including the most recent one “Education to Better Their World: Unleashing the Power of 21st-Century Kids.” As a teacher, he’s taught all grade levels from elementary school to college. Also included: an interview with Brandon Busteed, executive director of education and workforce development for the Gallup organization, which was recorded at the 2017 Innovation for Jobs Summit at SRI International.
